TAKE That will perform at Manchester Arena as the headliners for the first ever Hits Radio Live music event this summer.

Fresh from the launch of the new national radio station, bosses have announced Hits Radio Live will come to Manchester Arena on Saturday 14th July.

The dazzling new show will bring a galaxy of chart toppers to Manchester, and will offer the biggest hits from a star-studded line-up including Take That, Rita Ora, Liam Payne, George Ezra, Clean Bandit, Years and Years, Sigala and Jax Jones.

Take That are one of the UK’s most successful live acts and are renowned for their incredible concerts, having created some of the most memorable stage shows in UK music history.

It will be the first chance for Manchester fans to see them perform live since last summer’s Wonderland shows, which were staged at Manchester Arena and then returned for two huge shows at the Etihad Stadium.

The Manchester favourites also now hold the accolade of being the first artists to be played on the newly launched Hits Radio, which is broadcasting from Manchester to the rest of the UK after emerging from the former Key 103 earlier this week. Greatest Day introduced the station to the UK, introduced by new breakfast show hosts Gethin Jones, Gemma Atkinson and Dave Vitty. Speaking to the Hits Radio Breakfast Show, Take That’s Gary Barlow said: “It feels like a home town gig for us, which is always really special. “We love playing live, there’s nothing like it. “We’ll pull out all the big ones, Relight My Fire, Greatest Day, Patience and Shine!” Hits Radio breakfast show presenter Gemma will be hosting the Hits Radio Live gig and said: Gary Barlow “Take That are a Manchester institution so there is going to be no better place to see them perform live than in their home city!”

The band had sold over 7.6 million concert tickets before the announcement of Wonderland Live, setting the record for the fastest selling tour in UK history when 1.34 million tickets were snapped up for their Progress Live Tour in less than 24 hours.

In the UK alone, they have achieved seven UK Number One albums, 15 Number One singles, sold over 45 million records, won six Ivor Novellos, and eight BRIT Awards.

Internationally, they have scored an incredible 54 No.1 hits and 35 No.1 albums.

Tickets for Hits Radio Live at the Manchester Arena are on sale now from Ticketmaster.
