Marauder will be the trio’s sixth album, and is released on August 24. It’s their first release since 2014’s El Pintor, and fans are already very excited. Interpol have been together for two decades, and are perhaps best-known for their debut album Turn On The Bright Lights, which they performed in full at a special anniversar­y tour last year. Cypress Hill, Manchester Academy 1 November 30 The hip hop group Cypress Hill, who formed in California in 1988, have announced their first major UK tour in over two years. The recordbrea­king group were the first rap group to have two albums in the top 10 of the Billboard charts at the same time, and have sold over 20 million albums worldwide. They’ll kick off the tour in our fair city, before heading to Leeds, Glasgow, Birmingham and London. Their new album, Elephants on Acid, will be released later this year. Tickets go on sale today (Friday) at 9am. Daughtry, Manchester Academy 1 October 17 Daughtry are heading out on a worldwide tour very soon, landing in the UK in October. The American rock band were formed by, and named after, Chris Daughtry, who was a finalist on the fifth season on American Idol. Since then, they’ve released four albums, and have a fifth on the way later this summer. Tickets will go on sale at 10am today (Friday). Ady Suleiman, Manchester Academy 2 October 24 Ady Suleiman is a familiar face in Manchester, even though he only released his debut album earlier this year. He has popped up at both Neighbourh­ood and Dot-to-Dot, the huge multi-venue festivals that take over Manchester. He performed at Gorilla earlier this year, but has now announced a headline spot at the bigger Academy 2. Tickets will go on sale at 9am today (Friday). Bad Sounds, Gorilla October 28 Bad Sounds are a five-piece from Bath who have drawn comparison­s to Beck. Annie Mac’s a big fan - she made their single Wages her hottest record in the world in 2016 Their debut album Get Better is out on August 17, and the tour will take them around plenty of European festivals as well as all over the UK for their headline shows. You can get tickets from 9am today (Friday). Scarlxrd, Gorilla September 23 Scarlxrd (apparently pronounced ‘Scarlord’) has announced a UK headline tour in September. There’s a new album too, titled DXXM (pronounced ‘Doom’ - have you spotted the pattern yet?) Scarlxrd is a rap-metal artist from Wolverhamp­ton who previously made his name as a vlogger on YouTube, and he’ll be filling Gorilla with his energetic music. Tickets on sale today (Friday) at 10am. With Confidence, Manchester Academy 3 September 25 Another Australian band here. With Confidence are a pop-punk band from Sydney, formed back in 2012. Their debut album Better Weather was released in 2016, and for their new album they’ve called on the help of producer Mike Green, who has also worked with Paramore and All Time Low. Love and Loathing will be released in August this year, with UK tour dates to follow in September. Tickets go on sale at 9am today (Friday). Albin Lee Meldau, Night & Day Cafe October 16 Hailing from Sweden, Albin Lee Melau produces upbeat, catchy pop songs that have often drawn comparison­s to JP Cooper and George Ezra. He has just released his debut album About You, after self-publishing his debut EP Lovers in 2016. Singles include the guitar-heavy The Weight Is Gone and the dance-influenced I Need Your Love. Tickets will be on sale from 9am today (Friday). Nicki Minaj, Manchester Arena March 18 2019 Nicki Minaj has announced details of a worldwide arena tour for 2018-19. The rapper will head to Manchester Arena on March 18 as part of the tour. They will be in support of her upcoming fourth studio album Queen. Since her 2012 debut, the artist has become one of the most successful rappers of all time, selling 60 million singles and receiving ten Grammy Award nomination­s. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Friday, June 15 at ticketmast­er.co.uk or AXS.com. An O2 presale takes place from 10am on Wednesday, June 13 at priority. o2.co.uk. Tickets are priced between £40-£60, plus booking fees. David Byrne, Manchester Arena November 2 David Byrne has extended his American Utopia World Tour with a UK arena leg. The artist will finish up the run at Manchester Arena on November 2. Byrne will be performing songs from his critically acclaimed album American Utopia, as well as classics from his solo career and his days with Talking Heads. Since his time in the band he’s received Oscar, Golden Globe and Grammy Awards and has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He will be supported by singer-songwriter Benjamin Clementine during the run.
