THE undisputed queen of theatrical, bubblegum pop, Katy Perry is back in Manchester for the first time since her appearance at One Love Manchester last year.

It’s her first headline show since 2014’s Prismatic world tour, and it’s shaping up to be as bonkers and brilliant as we’ve all come to expect.

Katy’s debut album was released under the name Katy Hudson, and consisted of Christian rock music, but it was second album One of the Boys that saw her rocket to pop superstardom - and it’s just hit its tenth birthday.

I Kissed A Girl, her first single as Katy Perry, shot to number one in the charts across the globe, and her success has continued for a decade. Other massive hits include Firework, California Gurls, Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.), Roar, and Chained to the Rhythm.

She’s worked with Calvin Harris, Pharrell Williams, Nicki Minaj and Kanye West, and released four hugely successful albums under her stage name.

Here’s some essential information for tonight’s (Friday’s) concert at Manchester Arena. Away from the music, Katy’s famed for her theatrical wardrobes, colourful wigs, and over-the-top stage productions remember when she arrived on stage riding a giant lipstick? Or when she shot squirty cream from her bra in the California Gurls video? Or when one of her many dancers, dressed as a house, fell off the stage at the BRIT awards? That’s what the fans know and love her for. True to form, she’ll have a full troupe of backing dancers in dramatic costumes her first lot will dance with television sets on their heads.

She’s also expected to bring out the famous ‘Left Shark’ from her 2015 Super Bowl half-time performance.

At her London gigs last week, stage props included a giant basketball net, a full solar system of planets, and giant dice that dancers popped out of.

So yes, as usual, it’s going to be quite the spectacle. At the time of writing, there are about two full rows of seated tickets available at the £56.80 price range on ticketmaster.co.uk Eventim still have a few VIP standing tickets for the ‘Drop Zone’, getting you as close to Katy as possible, for £120.55 per ticket plus booking fee. There are also a handful of seated tickets in different tiers, ranging from £41.55 to £73.80. Visit Eventim for the latest. HAILEE STEINFELD You might recognise Hailee Steinfeld from her role in True Grit, or Begin Again, or the second two Pitch Perfect films.

But the 21-year-old Oscarnominated actress is also carving out quite a music career for herself - she has already been the opening act for Meghan Trainor, and this year will support both Katy Perry and Niall Horan on their world tours.

She usually collaborates with other artists on her music, and it’s a formula that works flawlessly. She’s looking like a pop queen in the making. Exact stage times are yet to be confirmed, but in London it went like this. Doors: 6.30pm Hailee Steinfeld: 7.30pm Interval: 8pm Katy Perry: 8.30pm Curfew: 11pm
