CARNIVAL dancing for stars
THE Real Housewives of Cheshire were showing off their dance moves as they joined co-star Seema Malhotra at her second annual charity danceathon.
Seema and her fashion firm Forever Unique hosted the event to raise money for children’s charity Brainwave.
And famous faces dancing for more than two hours included Real Housewives’ stars Dawn Ward, her best pals, hairdressers Nick and Royston Blythe, and Rachel Lugo.
The Danceathon took place at Parrs Wood High School, Didsbury, Manchester, with an exclusive dance performance from Cadman’s Dance School and music performances from Dax on Sax and Kami C from Six15 Events.
The theme of the evening was “all things carnival” with guests attending in bright and colourful clothing. More than 150 people got into the spirit, which was led by professional choreographers, Jonathan Chianco and Becci Elliot from Hale Country Club.
And we were rather impressed by the dance grooves from reality stars Rachel and Dawn!
A total of £2,500 was raised in aid of Brainwave which will be presented next week at Brainwave’s Strictly Ball on the 30th June in which Seema will be competing head to head with other Manchester based, business professionals.
Last year’s Danceathon was in aid of the We Love Manchester charity raising funds for the families affected by the terror attack.
Speaking of the event, Seema said: “Last year, we wanted to give something back to the community, in light of the tragic attacks in Manchester. We were all devastated as a nation, and our main aim was to try and lift the spirits of our beloved city. Due to its success, I want to make the Danceathon annual, and turn it into something bigger and better for a new charity each year. Brainwave is a fantastic children’s charity and I am so happy with the outcome – so many people came to show support!”
Brainwave is a charity that exists to help children with disabilities and additional needs to achieve greater independence. It aims to improve mobility, communication skills, and learning potential, through a range of educational and physical therapies.
