Neighbours block pavements with wheelie bins in parking protest

-

There’s issues everywhere. They dont own the road, it’s a snooze you lose job. I pay my road tax, car insurance mot etc so I can park on a public road. Well it’s my house, yeah might be but you didn’t buy or get a parking spot on a PUBLIC road by renting or buying a house.

But don’t we all like to park outside our own house? So the residents are inconvenienced for senseless drivers parking outside their homes! If they can’t park where they’re not bothering people, pay to park like most of us do! Well done to the residents of Hulme, I hope you get this sorted

and come out on top!

My street was like this once; cars parking everywhere. Then the local authority sent us all letters that they was introducing parking passes for the residents due to the amount of complaints. One side of the road declined (majority) the other accepted (majority). Started off as £80 per year, over 10 years later it’s £180 to park outside their own homes and now the residents are fighting against another rise in permit fees. Be careful what you wish for!

It may not be illegal but it’s ignorant and selfish to park on a residential street then commute to avoid parking fees when the issue is so bad the bin lorries can’t get up the street!!!
