It must be really hot... people are swimming in Trafford Centre pool!

THIS is the bizarre moment two pranksters take a dip in the ornamental pool at the food court in the Trafford Centre – one wearing arm bands.

Shopper Lee Carter, who filmed the footage on his mobile phone, said the laughing men were swimming and splashing around until shocked diners around them alerted security guards.

The footage shows the men – who were wearing only swimming shorts – slip and slide on the centre’s marble flooring after they jump out of the pool and run away.

Office worker Lee, 19, from Stockport, said: “I just filmed the tail end of things really. They probably did it as a laugh or for a bet or dare.”

Lee said the pair, who he believed were aged in their mid-20s, ran out of the main doors leading from the food hall, with Trafford Centre security guards hot on their tail.

It’s not the first time pranksters have jumped into the food court’s shallow pool.

In 2016 a YouTube vlogger wearing shorts, goggles and a life jacket irked bosses at the mall by swimming around the pool. He was quickly escorted out. Speaking of the latest incident at lunchtime on Saturday, Lee said: “I was doing a bit of shopping and was on the top tier overlooking the food hall when I saw them. I looked down and saw lots of water splashing around and the two men in the water swimming around. “One had arm bands on. They were in there for a good five minutes. “They were shouting stuff but I could not really hear what they were saying. They were just treating it like Lee Carter a normal swimming pool, having fun and laughing. Everyone was just shocked, stood up and staring and pointing at them. I think someone went to alert security and they ran off.”

The video shows the men vaulting over the pool’s barriers to escape.

The man wearing arm bands almost slips as soon as he gets out.

His friend then takes a tumble on the floor behind him, as laughing can be heard on the video.

“They were aged in their mid 20s I think,” Lee said. The security guys went after them as they ran out of the centre.”

It’s unclear what, if anything, happened to the pair of pranksters.

The Trafford Centre has been contacted for comment.
