Twitter hoping love is in air for flight passengers

IT’S a story as old as time – boy meets girl, another girl becomes intrigued by the prospect of a fledgling romance and live blogs every moment of their first meeting, the internet becomes obsessed.

It started innocently enough, when Texan Rosey Blair took a plane ride home and asked a woman to swap seats with her so she could sit with her boyfriend.

But when she noticed that the woman who did her the favour seemed to be getting on well with the man in the next seat, Rosey whipped out her phone and began covertly documenting their exchange on Twitter, convinced it could be the start of a beautiful romance.

She tweeted: “After I switched spots with her I literally said to my boyfriend ‘I hope she meets the love of her life’ and the hunky dude walks over and we FREAK OUT.’

As it turns out, the ‘hunky dude’ is none other than former Stockport County and Bury FC player Euan Holden.

Rosey went on to send a stream of more than 50 real-time posts throughout the journey, at one point even buying more WiFi so she could keep sending updates to an army of increasingly intrigued Twitter users.

She posted: “Both look like sexy fitness buffs and they are chatting and smiling at each other and we haven’t even left the runway! I hope they get to fall in love!”

Fortunately, the former central midfielder didn’t seem to mind having every moment of his private journey shared with thousands of strangers.

He eventually replied to Rosey’s Twitter thread with: ‘Hilarious... Knew you were taking pictures,’ and even suggested the hashtag #CatchingFlightsANDFeelings to the thousands of people who commented.

The thread has now been retweeted more than 176,000 times and attracted thousands of comments. Euan, meanwhile, has so far kept a dignified Twitter silence on whether or not he’s going to see his fellow passenger again.
