Centurions boosted by welcome return of Hall

-

FORMER Salford forward Adam Walne goes straight into Leigh’s travelling squad for the clash with Batley tomorrow after joining on loan until the end of the season.

The Centurions confirmed the departure of two forwards earlier this week, with Paterika Vaivai and Larne Patrick both leaving the club.

Vaivai suffered a season-ending injury on Easter Monday and has been released to allow him to continue his recovery back in Australia, while Patrick has subsequently announced his retirement from the sport.

However, the addition of Walne should soften the blow and Leigh are further boosted by the return of Craig Hall, who missed the trip to Toronto last time out.

Rochdale welcome Swinton the Crown Oil Arena in what is set to be a crucial bottom-of-the-table clash. The two sides are separated by just two points at the foot of the Betfred Championship table – and have already met twice this season.

The Lions came out on top at the Summer Bash in Blackpool, but Hornets prevailed at Heywood Road last month.

Alan Kilshaw has new signing Elliott Jenkins available, while Gavin Bennion - who has featured for Swinton on loan from Salford this season – is in line to make his second appearance back at the club after returning on a short-term loan from the Red Devils.

In League 1, Oldham welcome West Wales Raiders to the Vestacare Stadium – the first match since switching dual-registration partners from Salford to Leigh.
