THOUSANDS of England fans will be packed into Castlefield Bowl tomorrow night to watch the Three Lions take on Croatia in the World Cup semi-final – after tickets sold out in just 25 minutes.

Manchester was crowded on Saturday as excited supporters descended on the pubs, bars and anywhere with a decent-sized screen to watch the 2-0 win over Sweden.

Wednesday night is expected to be even busier.

The Castlefield Bowl screening is sold out, but there are a handful of other big screen events.

Over near Manchester United‘s Old Trafford ground, Victoria Warehouse is putting up huge indoor screens with capacity for up to 3,500 people.

Tickets cost between £4 and £11.25 (for a VIP ticket) and are available via Skiddle.

Doors open at 4.30pm with last entry at 6pm. Over 12s are welcome if accompanied by someone over the age of 18. Nearby tram stops Exchange Quay and MediaCityUK are within walking distance of the venue. Albert Hall is showing a free screening with free entry – doors open at 5pm. The venue holds around 2,300 people. The huge Peter Street gig venue is better known for bringing some the best acts in music to Manchester but tomorrow night, football takes over. St Peter’s Square and Deansgate-Castlefield are both nearby tram stops. Impossible – opposite Albert Hall on Peter Street – with its courtyard spilling out onto the grassy amphitheatre at the Great Northern, has become Manchester’s unofficial fan zone for this World Cup. As well as showing the England games on a huge screen outside on the beer terrace, they also have a big screen inside should the weather crumble. There are deckchairs and picnic tables, but needless to say these have been filling up fast – after that, it’s a case of standing up with your pint and hoping no one too tall gets in the way. Strict security measures will be in place at Castlefield Bowl and other screenings, so guests are advised to follow guidelines in order to be allowed entry that will be publicised alongside ticket information.
