POLICE investigating the theft of electrical equipment worth more than £1,000 at Piccadilly railway station want to speak to these men.

Officers released CCTV images of five men - two of them wearing Arsenal football shirts - and urged the public to get in touch if they recognise them.

It follows the theft of goods worth £1,050 from an electronics cabinet at WH Smiths inside the station at 1pm on July 7.

After releasing the images, a statement from British Transport Police said: “British Transport Police officers would like to speak to them in connection with the theft of more than £1,050 worth of goods from WHSmiths at Manchester Piccadilly station, on 7 July.

“At approximately 1pm, a group of five men entered the station and sat on a large bench opposite the main entrance.

“They were then seen at different times to enter WH Smiths, remove several items from the electronics cabinet and walk out of the shop without paying.

“Officers would like to speak to the men in these CCTV images because they believe they may have information which could help the investigation.

“If you recognise these men or you have any information which could help the investigation, please call 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016, quoting 184 of 23 July.”
