Devils coach adds to side for Super 8s
IAN Watson has strengthened his Salford squad further ahead of the Super 8 Qualifiers with the addition of former Hull FC utility Jansin Turgut.
The 22-year-old was granted a release ahead of last week’s transfer deadline and has been training with the Red Devils.
He has signed a short-term deal until the end of the 2018 season at the AJ Bell Stadium and is available for all of the club’s upcoming Qualifiers fixtures.
”We were looking for an outside back and Jansin’s name came up as he’s played a little bit of centre as well as second-row, which adds some utility value to our squad,” explained Watson.
”He’s backed himself to come down here and prove his Betfred Super League credentials as he’s on the lookout for a new club for next year.
”He’s a former England Academy captain, which indicates he has leadership qualities, and one thing that has always impressed me about Jansin is his work ethic, which is key in our environment.
”He always runs his blood to water, never lets his teammates down and it’s great we’ve been able to bring some young, hungry lads into our squad.
“Hopefully we can integrate him into our systems and plays quickly and he can put in some top performances for Salford.”
While the majority of Super League and Championship sides enjoy a week off for the Challenge Cup semi-finals, OLDHAM are in action in League 1, taking on Hemel Stags.
