THE Football League season gets back underway this weekend, with ROCHDALE beginning their League One campaign with a trip to Burton Albion.

Rochdale remain in the third tier of English football after their dramatic final day survival, and they now kick things off by heading to the Pirelli Stadium today.

Keith Hill has strengthened over the summer as he looks to improve his side, and the Rochdale boss says he may not be finished yet.

“Things happen over the course of the next week but also the next few weeks with respect to the loan window,” he said.

“That will still be open for Football League clubs, so if I was going to be recruiting I would probably tap into a necessity which is the loan market.”

BURY are back in League Two after their relegation last season, and up first for them today is a home game against Yeovil Town.

Ryan Lowe remains in charge of the Shakers following his appointment in January, and he is expecting a difficult match against the Glovers.

“Darren Way’s done a fantastic job for them. We can’t underestimate them, they’re a good little team. We’ve watched plenty of clips on them,” he said.

“He’ll have them right up for it this season, they’ve done some good business – along with ourselves – so we’re not going to underestimate anyone.

“We won’t underestimate any team in this league. We’ll give them the respect they deserve but, ultimately, we want to win games of football. We’ll go about our business but we’ll respect every opposition and Yeovil won’t be any different.”

OLDHAM ATHLETIC are also in League Two after their relegation, and today they welcome MK Dons to Boundary Park.

They have been boosted ahead of the game after Ishmael Miller joined the club on a one-year deal, and the striker says he is more determined than ever.

“It’s been good to get pre-season under my belt and it feels good to be back in the game. It was just the perfect time for me to come back, I’ve been really missing them games,” he said.

“Especially the last couple months, things like the World Cup make you miss it so much. That year out it was nice to reflect on the things that I wanted and probably made me hungrier than I’ve ever been.”

Elsewhere in League Two today, MACCLESFIELD TOWN have their first game in the Football League since 2012 when they head to Swindon Town.

In the Championship, WIGAN ATHLETIC will look to build on their promotion last season when they host Sheffield Wednesday at the DW Stadium, while BOLTON WANDERERS take on West Brom at the Hawthorns after their Premier League relegation. Keith Hill
