Airline increases number of Mumbai flights

-

JET Airways has increased the frequency on its new direct Manchester to Mumbai service, before the first plane has even taken off.

The airline will now offer five flights a week to the Indian city, giving people in the north increased flexibility and options.

Flights will now depart on Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Announced in May, Jet Airways will use an Airbus A330-200 on the route with Première (business) and economy classes.

Lydia Nazareth, general manager UK and Ireland at Jet Airways said: “We are pleased to increase the frequency on flights between Manchester and Mumbai ahead of our launch in November.

“Jet Airways is committed to deepening both commerce and tourism ties between the two countries.

“Expanding our flight frequency allows us to give further choice to business and leisure travellers heading to Mumbai from the North of England. Not only are we giving customers more choice when travelling to India, but our network of flights across India also connects Mumbai to multiple different destinations across the country.”

Julian Carr, aviation director at Manchester Airport, said: “We are delighted that Jet Airways has decided to increase the frequency on its direct flights to Mumbai from Manchester. It’s a clear indication of the airline’s commitment to Manchester, and also a sign of the demand for people from the North to travel to India.”

Jet Airways’ flight 9W 130 will depart from Mumbai at 2.30am and will arrive in Manchester’s Terminal 2 at 7.55am (local time).

The return flight, 9W 129 will depart from Manchester at 9.35am and arrive in Mumbai’s Terminal 2 at 12.40am (Local time). Flights start on Monday, November 5, with return economy fares from £389. For more information see manchester airport.co.uk or jetairways.com
