Deal or no deal? Contracts City need to get done

PEP Guardiola has again stressed his desire for Raheem Sterling to sign a new City contract.

The boss is keen to tie down the England forward – who has previously stated an ambition to play abroad.

City have done an excellent job of convincing their young superstars to commit to the club for the best years of their career, with Gabriel Jesus this month the latest to sign a new deal.

But not everyone has posed smiling in the familiar image next to director of football Txiki Begiristai­n at the training ground, with decisions needed in the near future on a number of squad players.

Here is a look at which stars are signed up to the club for the long run, and when the Blues should be opening up talks over new contracts. over the situation but planned talks over the summer did not end up with a new long-term deal.

Fernandinh­o was down to the last six months of his contract when he signed on until 2020, while fellow senior players David Silva and Sergio Aguero are also tied down for another two years.

Ilkay Gundogan, Fabian Delph, Jason Denayer, Claudio Bravo and Patrick Roberts are yet to sign contract extensions. LEROY Sane is into the middle season of his five-year deal and is yet to pen a new one. Tosin Adarabioyo, who ran down his contract before signing up in 2017, and Aleks Zinchenko also have deals that run out in 2021. Raheem Sterling NICOLAS Otamendi is signed up until 2022 after impressing Guardiola during their two seasons together.

Bernardo Silva, Kyle Walker, Benjamin Mendy, Danilo and Douglas Luiz all signed five-year deals last summer, while John Stones came in the previous year on a six-year deal.

Guardiola is also signed up for this long.
