Pogba: Our attitude was wrong
PAUL Pogba admitted his – and his team-mates – attitude was wrong as United lost to Brighton.
Jose Mourinho’s side fell to a 3-2 defeat on the south coast on a disappointing afternoon where they only managed three shots on target in a performance that was full of defensive mistakes.
And Pogba, who captained United for the second successive game, admitted the attitude of the players on the pitch was not good enough.
“We lost and the attitude that we had I don’t think we deserved to win, from the start we knew it was a hard game to play playing against a smaller club than Manchester United but the attitude that we had is not like we wanted to beat them,” Pogba told Sky Sports after the game. “They had more hunger than us and I think they showed that, I put myself first when I say our attitude wasn’t right.”
And the France international has revealed that it was the third goal before half-time that really hit the team.
“I think we made a mistake that we shouldn’t make and it was 1-0 and that’s okay but then it was 2-0 and we came back to 2-1 and we had hope we could score again in the first half,” Pogba explained.
“But then we concede a goal which is a hit for us and in the first half it was a hit and very disappointing, and we tried to push but players like myself, we kept losing a lot of balls and we kept trying until we scored the goal but it was too late.”
