200 new tech jobs at The Hut
ONLINE health and beauty retailer The Hut Group [THG] is to create 200 new tech jobs at a new base at MediaCityUK.
The business is set to take office space on the 10th floor of the Orange tower from September.
It follows recently announced plans to create more than 6,000 new jobs at its new Manchester headquarters.
It will retain its massive Warrington distribution centre where around 800 staff work and its former headquarters in Northwich, Cheshire, where most of the remaining 2,600 current marketing and admin roles are.
Matthew Moulding, CEO of THG, said: “We are delighted to establish this additional base for The Hut Group in the north.
“The space and facilities at Orange are ideal for our expanding technology team.
“The concentration of highly creative and innovative businesses working in MediaCityUK, together with the lively business community, means we can tap into the talent pool there.”
Stephen Wild, MD for MediaCityUK, said: “The Hut Group is one of the most dynamic e-commerce operators who work at the cutting edge of FMCG retailing in the UK.
“We’re delighted that they have earmarked MediaCityUK to base their research and development function.
“Their neighbours will include international brands such as Ericsson, Kelloggs and ITV. Their commitment to the site means that Orange is now fully let.
“They are exactly the kind of business we wanted to attract to this premium office space.”
