Jose keeping quiet on Pogba interview

JOSE Mourinho refused to elaborate on Paul Pogba’s comments that his attitude ‘was not right’ during United’s 3-2 defeat at Brighton last week.

Pogba gave a candid post-match interview at the Amex Stadium where he said ‘my attitude was not right’ and opined that Brighton ‘had more hunger than us’ in their deserved victory.

Mourinho described Pogba as a ‘monster’ earlier this month and was conciliatory towards the stand-in United captain at the Brighton pre-match press conference amid reported tension between the duo. But a curt Mourinho had no interest in amplifying on Pogba’s remarks in Brighton yesterday.

“Paul told,” Mourinho said. “[He] has to answer by his words, if you want any explanation about Paul’s words you must get him and ask him.”

Last week, Pogba said: “The attitude that we had was not like we wanted to beat them. They had more anger than us and that showed on the pitch. I put myself first. My attitude wasn’t right enough. We’ll keep trying and keep pushing and obviously it’s a lesson for us.”

Mourinho is yet to decide his team to face Tottenham on Monday night as United have three more training sessions. Antonio Valencia and Nemanja Matic have resumed full training and Alexis Sanchez could return from injury. Summer signing Diogo Dalot has also started training with his new team-mates and could make his debut next month.
