Passing all tests with flying colours
YOUNG people across Rochdale were jumping for joy as they opened their A-level results.
Rochdale Sixth Form College celebrated 99 per cent pass rate with 55pc of grades at A* to B.
Pupils at the college beat the national average for top grades for the seventh year running.
More than 80pc of their students are moving on to higher education, including Russell Group universities, as well as Oxford and Cambridge.
Ameerah Latif is heading to St Hilda’s College at Oxford after scooping an A* a year early in maths.
Ameerah also got an A* in chemistry, A* in the EPQ, A in biology and an A in English literature.
She said: “I’m delighted with my results and looking forward to continuing my studies at Oxford.”

“Since 8am we’ve had smiles beaming across the corridors with students, parents and teachers all rushing around to wish everybody luck and congratulate them on their results.
