LYNDA Shillaw is leaving her role as divisional CEO at Manchester Airports Group.

The infrastructure expert is set to join Town Centre Securities as property director – joining the board on November 5.

With a presence in Manchester, Leeds, London and Scotland, Town Centre Securities is a property investor and car park operator.

Shillaw has more than 20 years’ experience in the property industry and was named in the M.E.N.’s 100 Inspiring Women’s list last year.

During her tenure at MAG she was responsible for a £525m investment portfolio and 1,000-acre development land bank across its UK airports. The former CEO was also heavily involved with the £1bn Airport City Joint Venture.

Speaking during her time at MAG she said: “The expansion of airportlinked commercial facilities makes them a key part of 21st century urban development. The scale of opportunity at Airport City Manchester means it has the ability to satisfy changing business needs by providing the blank canvas and value for money they require.”

Before joining the airport group, Shillaw had been director of real estate at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership, managing director and global head of Corporate Real Estate for Lloyds Banking Group, MD of Co-Operative Estates and a director at BT.

She also holds non-executive director positions on the board of the Crown Estate and VIVID housing association.

Richard Lewis, the company’s current property director, will retire as planned from the board and the company. He has had a long and distinguished career at Town Centre Securities having joined the company in 2000 and was appointed to the board in 2001.

Edward Ziff, chairman and chief executive, said: “We are delighted to have recruited someone with the calibre and reputation of Lynda Shillaw to join Town Centre Securities. We believe that Lynda’s breadth of investment and development experience, combined with her past involvement in real estate financing, will be invaluable as we embark on the next stage of the company’s growth, including undertaking the most significant development pipeline in TCS’s history.

“We are confident that Lynda’s passion for delivery combined with her reputation and knowledge will make her a powerful new addition.

“On behalf of the board, I would like to personally thank Richard Lewis for his long-standing commitment to Town Centre Securities.

“Richard’s contribution has been invaluable, notably with some of our most significant schemes, such as the continued development of Piccadilly Basin in Manchester, and most recently the re-development of Merrion House in Leeds. We wish Richard a long, happy, and healthy retirement.”
