Ammies get point thanks to Roo

SALFORD CITY couldn’t make it three straight wins in the National League after they were held to a 1-1 draw at Havant & Waterloovi­lle.

Alfie Pavey scored the opener for the home side, but Adam Rooney equalised just after the halfhour mark, leaving Salford in 14th position in the table.

In the National League North, ALTRINCHAM picked up an impressive victory – beating Darlington 3-0 away from home.

Jordan Hulme scored twice for the Robins, while John Johnston also netted to help Altrincham move up to ninth.

STOCKPORT COUNTY suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Alfreton Town.

Tom Denton got the only goal of the match after eight minutes to come out on top in the game at Edgeley Park. The Hatters have dropped out of the play-offs after the loss, now sitting in eighth position.

FC UNITED came up short at home as they were beaten 2-0 to Leamington. Kieran Dunbar and Matthew Stenson scored, leaving FC United second bottom in the table.

CURZON ASHTON picked up a point at home with a 1-1 draw to Kiddermins­ter Harriers.

Ryan Brooke scored for 11th placed Curzon but Ashley Chambers equalised late on for Kiddermins­ter.

ASHTON UNITED earned a point after their match at Southport ended 2-2. Matthew Chadwick and Bradley Jackson put Ashton 2-0 up, but Ryan Astles and Jason Gilchrist scored to deny them the win and leave Ashton in 16th.
