Jim McDonald back in the Rovers

-

CORONATION Street icon Jim McDonald makes a dramatic return to the soap next week and someone is definitely not thrilled to see him.

The Corrie hard man, played by Charlie Lawson, walks into the Rovers Return next Friday while his son Steve’s stag party is underway.

Just as Steve, played by Simon Gregson, is forced to drink a pint through one of Kirk’s socks a hush descends when the pub door opens to reveal Jim standing there.

Steve and Jim’s ex-wife Liz, played by Beverley Callard, are gobsmacked to see him. Telling Jim he wants nothing to do with him, Steve storms out.

But that’s nothing compared to the reaction from a furious Peter Barlow, who lunges at him. He’s a braver man than us!

It seems Peter is in no mood to forgive and forget after Jim poisoned him with alcohol in prison four years ago.

Jim was doing time for armed robbery which he committed so wife Liz could buy the Rovers Return, in 2011. And recovering alcoholic Peter was in prison after being charged with the murder of Tina McIntyre (he was later released when Rob Donovan was revealed as the killer).

Jim is back with shocking news that their daughter Katie, who they believed to have died soon after being born prematurely in 1992, is very much alive and is now called Hannah.
