Climate cold, as well as hot
I WAS reflecting on the interesting year we have so far had climate wise.
Four months from January to April 2018 cold weather records broken totalled 100 across the US and northern Europe, this was the UK’s coldest winter since 1963 – funnily enough, global cooling wasn’t mentioned at the time in much of the climate-obsessed media.
We then experienced two nice and hot months in June and July with some hot – but not recordbreaking – temperatures.
The Met Office claims of recordbreaking temperatures in Scotland, Heathrow and Faversham were quickly debunked. The Scottish weather station was discovered to be situated on concrete in a car park! The Met Office withdrew this claim after this fact had been pointed out. Weather stations should not be within 100 yards of concrete as it contaminates the records due to the urban heat island effect. This directive comes from the World Meteorological Organisation.
We had similar unsuitable sites with Heathrow being one of the biggest UHI’s in the country, whilst Faversham in Kent is situated on asphalt behind a hedgerow!
August, as we have witnessed, has been cold and rainy with below average temperatures.
In summary, this year we have experienced five months of below average temperatures and two months of above average temperatures, equalling a downward climate trend of around three months. Interesting how we didn’t hear that from the climate obsessed media who are following a misleading warming bias. D. Bagnall, Manchester
