THE new school year is almost upon us once again, which means it’s time to buy those all important supplies.

From shoes and trainers to book bags, rucksacks and more, there’s no end to what the kids need before they step inside the classroom.

We’ve been taking a look at some of the best back to school products on the high street.

Wynsors World of Shoes Wynsors has grown in popularity among families – for its own brand products as much as well-known names such as Kickers.

There are lots of shoes to choose from, starting from £10 a pair. And you can get a genuine leather pair, like the boys’ Buckle My Shoe Bungo ones, for £23.

Its range of Kickers, often recommended as a sturdy shoe for lasting the full school year, includes the likes of the Fragma Strap 3 Youth, £40, and the girls’ Lach T-Bar, £50.

Wynsors sells a range of school bags, too, from character bags such as Paw Patrol and Peppa Pig backpacks for younger ones at £7 each, to brands such as Superdry and Adidas.

Hype If you’ve got kids of a certain age then you’ll have heard about Hype bags.

They seem to get more popular with each school year and come in a wide range of bright colours and designs. One of the main retailers is Just Hype and if you order now you can get a free pencil case with selected backpacks, or a bundle, featuring a backpack with matching pencil case and wallet or drawstring bag. The bags start from around £24.99.

Shoe Zone Shoe Zone is another popular choice among families for its branded and non-branded footwear. Its Kickers start from £34.99 a pair, while its own brands of girls and boys shoes now start from £7.99 as some have been reduced in the summer sale.

Matalan Matalan always has a wide selection of uniform, with a variety of styles available for the essentials such as skirts and pinafores. And its range of shoes is varied and reasonably priced, too.

Popular choices include the Girls Cleated T-Bar School Shoes, from £13, the casual Boys Coated Leather Trainer School Shoes, £14, which come with ‘a scruff resistant coated leather outer’ and easy fasten riptape straps, and the more formal looking Coated Leather Riptape School Shoes, from £17.

Asda The supermarket’s 100-day ‘satisfaction guarantee’ – meaning if you’re not satisfied with the clothing you can return it within 100 days – makes it a popular choice for parents. And it applies to footwear too, which makes its range of school shoes even more appealing.

There’s a big selection for boys and girls, with real leather school shoes, like the Girls Black Leather Floral Embellished School Shoes, available from £15 a pair, up to size 2. And there are some online exclusives too, like the Wide Fit Black Leather Formal Shoes for boys, for £20.
