Coleen: ‘I warned producers not to let Kim on show’
COLEEN Nolan has opened up about her fallout on Loose Women with Kim Woodburn, saying she warned against her nemesis appearing on the show.
The former Celebrity Big Brother housemates came face-to-face on the ITV chat show in an item asking if they could end their feud after the two women fell out last year.
But it quickly escalated with former How Clean Is Your House? star Kim calling panellist Coleen ‘lying trash’ before storming off the set.
TV watchdog Ofcom received more than 3,000 complaints, with some viewers saying they were offended by Kim’s treatment on the show and claiming the reality star guest was ‘bullied’ and ‘ganged up’ on.
In an exclusive interview Coleen, who says she’s been upset to receive online abuse since the row last week, says she warned against Kim appearing on the afternoon chat show.
“Personally I don’t have any say on who comes on,” she told The Diary.
“I said ‘I don’t think she can do this.’ I wasn’t shocked by what happened. But it really upset me that people are blaming me. I’m so not confrontational. We’re all aware it looked like four against one but she went off on one.”
A tearful Kim, speaking about her experience in the Big Brother house, said pointing at Coleen: “They picked on me. This one ‘cup of tea Kim?’ and behind my back they were slagging me off.”
Asked why she didn’t leave CBB if she was unhappy she said: “I wanted the money.”
Coleen, who lives in Wilmslow, reminded Kim it has been 18 months since they had been on CBB together and Janet Street-Porter, who took on a judge role between the pair, said ‘she wants to draw a line under it.’
But Kim argued: “I’ll never forget what the likes of her and seven others put me through.”
And as fellow panellist Linda Robson put a comforting arm around her, Kim snapped ‘don’t be two-faced.’
Coleen said: “She was there for an hour afterwards and they offered her every kind of help.
“All of us were in shock afterwards and the audience was in shock.
“I wasn’t in as much shock because I had to live with it.
“I was told her people had been in touch and the appearance was to make amends and I said ‘I don’t see any point in that.’”
Speaking about the reaction she’s received since the show, the CBB 2017 winner said: “I’ve had a lot of abuse and I’m upset by that. Don’t start calling me a bully.”
The Nolans singer is now ‘excited and nervous’ to go solo for the first time and is embarking on a seven-week tour which will bring her to the Manchester Apollo on Friday, January 11, Warrington Parr Hall on Friday, February 15, and ending in her home town Blackpool at the Winter Gardens on Thursday, February 28.
She said: “I’ve always performed with a network of sisters so it’s quite scary.
“The reason I wanted to call it Never Too Late is because I think there’s a lot of ageism against women and I don’t want fear to hold me back.
“I’m really looking forward to it. The public have put me where I am and it would be nice to be with them on a night out.”
