Boot load of trouble for City ace Kyle
REPRESENTING your national team is supposed to be the proudest moment of your footballing career.
However, the international break has already left Kyle Walker feeling embarrassed when reporting for England duty.
Fresh from scoring his first goal for City at the weekend the full-back joined up with his international team-mates on Monday night.
Walker was in a joyous mood at St George’s Park on Monday, however, something was not quite right – he had forgotten his boots.
A video clip uploaded to the official England Twitter account shows the 28-year-old meeting with staff members at the training camp’s reception.
However, Walker soon realised his mistake, admitting he had somehow forgotten to bring a vital part of equipment with him.
“I’ve forgot my boots,” Walker laughs.
“I am being deadly serious, I have just remembered. I do need them don’t I?”
Walker’s footwear was not the only omission from the England training camp this week, after club team-mate Raheem Sterling pulled out of the squad as an injury precaution.
The FA confirmed earlier in the week Sterling would not play a part in England’s two fixtures against Spain and Switzerland due to a problem with his lower back.
The extent of Sterling’s injury is as yet unknown and England are not expected to call up an immediate replacement.
