Economy is strong enough

-

IT’S a shame Salford’s True Believer has no faith in we Brits (Brexit means destruction, Viewpoints,

September 4.) He’s probably influenced by relentless negative propaganda by powerful vested interests wanting to keep things as they are.

Before portraying Britain as a virtual third world country, in danger of being crippled by the supposed folly of independence, the true condition of the EU should be recognised. Headlines across Europe reveal increasing rebellion against the protectionist Super State Project and disastrous economic fallout, while the economy is propped up by the European Central Bank continuing to print false money. This must end eventually and create havoc!

The EU’s world market share continues to shrink while the world economy is accelerating, not least the US. At the same time, UK exports have reached a record high of £620 billion, mostly to non-EU countries, with exports to Europe falling from 54 per cent in 2006 to 43pc in 2016.

These facts don’t indicate the UK is on its knees and powerless to avoid submission to an overbearing unaccountable superpower and the sooner control is recovered, the sooner we can ensure that those taking from our country put their fair share back.

The public want our well-paid elected politicians to do their job, without abdicating responsibility to another referendum as a delaying tactic, but remembering, betrayal will generate deep resentment and never be forgiven! Bill Newham, Worsley
