Salford aim to build on win

SALFORD CITY will look to build on their impressive win in midweek when they host Maidstone United at the Peninsula Stadium today.

The Ammies head into the match on the back of a 2-0 away win against AFC Fylde on Tuesday, the first defeat of Fylde’s season.

Salford are in ninth place in the National League table after four wins from their nine games so far, while Maidstone have struggled and are in 20th.

In the National League North, there is a local derby as ALTRINCHAM go up against CURZON ASHTON at Moss Lane. Alitrncham are in 13th place after two wins from eighth games, while Curzon are two places and a point below them.

STOCKPORT COUNTY have a home game at Edgeley Park as they take on Boston United.

The Hatters ended a run of two straight defeats when they returned to winning ways with a 3-1 victory over Leamington last weekend, leaving them 10th in the table. Boston are two places above them in eighth.

FC UNITED are at home, taking on Southport at Broadhurst Park. It’s been a frustratin­g start for FC United, who are bottom of the table after five defeats from seven games. Today’s opponents Southport are in 20th place.

ASHTON UNITED have a home game against Chorley at Hurst Cross. Ashton are 17th and it will be a difficult task against Chorley, who are top of the table after seven wins and one draw from eight matches.
