SOAP star guests looked super-chic as they ramped up the glam for an emotional afternoon at Chelsea’s Ladies Lunch.

Hollyoaks star Daisy WoodDavis and Coronation Street’s Mollie Winnard and were all smiles as they arrived at the Hilton Hotel on Deansgate for the 12th annual charity lunch. Daisy, best known for her dramatic storylines as Kim Butterfield in the Channel Four soap, looked stunning in a black cropped top and black mermaid-effect flared trousers, teamed with white mule heels and matching clutch bag. And Mollie, who plays Corrie newcomer Kayla Westbrook, looked smart on the red carpet in blush pink trousers and matching heels with a white vest top. She completed the look with eye-catching tassel earrings. Mollie has drawn comparisons with former Corrie star Michelle Keegan since arriving in Weatherfield earlier this year. The popular lunch, hosted by BBC Radio Manchester’s breakfast show presenter Chelsea Norris, raised £12,000 for St Ann’s Hospice and the bereavement charity Once Upon a Smile. The lunch was planned and hosted by broadcaster Chelsea after 10 years of hosting lunches with her previous station Key 103.

She said: “It’s an honour that so many ladies come back year after year to this event. I always put so much into making it a memorable day.

“We laugh, we cry and we party but we go home feeling grateful and I love it. A huge thanks to everyone who has supported the event and helped to raise such an amazing amount for two very worthy charities that mean so much to me.”

Guests were treated to a red carpet champagne reception, a twocourse dinner, shopping village, fashion show, auction and performances from swing and jazz musician Paul Pashley, Happy Mondays singer Rowetta, Manchester band Prose and the Manchester Survivors Choir, a choir made up of survivors of the Manchester Arena attack.

The event ended with a DJ set by Capital FM presenter James Hall.

There were tears as stories of St Ann’s volunteer involvement were told at the lunch and special guest Michelle Hawley described how Once Upon a Smile had helped her and her children after losing her mum and husband to cancer within weeks. ”
