BOLTON council has teamed up with the M.E.N. to sponsor this year’s property lunch.

They join current sponsors Manchester property developers Capital & Centric, law firm JMW and Airport City Manchester.

Now in its fifth year, the event, held at The Midland Hotel in Manchester on October 17, will bring together the region’s top property professionals who will hear from keynote speaker, renowned architect Sir Terry Farrell.

Bolton council said it was excited about its involvement with the property lunch as it progresses its £1bn regeneration plans, including £250m private sector investment.

Gerry Brough, interim director of place at Bolton council, said: “We are pleased to be a sponsor of the M.E.N. property lunch and look forward to continuing to work with local, regional and national partners to deliver development, regeneration and employment opportunities on a large scale, and drive economic growth.”

Meanwhile, John McHugh, head of strategic and commercial marketing at MAG Property, which runs Airport City Manchester, said he was pleased to support the M.E.N. property lunch following a year of progress. “This last year has been exciting for the project, which has included the sale of 45 acres of development land to a new global investor and the announcement of a new £180m hotel district, providing 1,171 new hotel rooms within the Airport City North footprint,” he said.

“Manchester and the north west continues to benefit from the insight and creativity of a range of new and established developers.

“In the property world, many projects can rely on existing space, architecture, heritage and reputation to build their own narrative, however, we believe that tapping into the emotions of people will help to create the magic of placemaking.

“Airports, like Manchester, offer fast links to major centres around the world and provide a great option for business occupiers.

“The rapid expansion of airport-linked commercial facilities makes them a key part of 21st Century urban development.

“Alongside a globally connected airport, at Airport City we’re creating a development designed to respond to the changing requirements of businesses.”

Tickets for the property lunch cost £50 per person, plus VAT.
