CITY V FULHAM Fulham coming to attack the champs

CITY fans could be in for something different today when Fulham visit.

Premier League games at the Etihad have regularly come to resemble attack against defence training exercises as opposition teams sit as deep as they can to try to negate the attacking power of Pep Guardiola’s side.

Both Huddersfield and Newcastle have done their best to frustrate the Blues in this way this season. However, Fulham could pose a different threat.

Slavisa Jokanovic’s side were only outscored by Wolves in the Championship last season and just six teams have more than their seven goals from the opening four games of the Premier League campaign.

The Fulham manager is not interested in copying the style of Guardiola as he looks to ensure a successful return to the top flight for the Cottagers, mindful that his team cannot go toe-to-toe with City.

But the coach did appear to confirm how they will go about the game.

“We will choose what we believe is the best way for us to have the opportunity to win the game,” he said.

“Everyone knows how Manchester City play football, everyone knows what this team’s style is.

“We are a team promoted from the Championship, we want to use similar weapons and we want to attack with possession of the ball.”

City’s only dropped points of the campaign so far came against Championship winners Wolves, and Guardiola’s team travel to Cardiff next weekend. PEP Guardiola has hit back at suggestions that Leroy Sane’s body language is all wrong.

But the City boss HAS challenged the 22-year-old Germany international to hit the heights he reached last season after a worrying start to the campaign.

Sane was axed from his country’s World Cup squad in the summer, and has not started a game for City this season - and was dropped from the matchday squad altogether for the last game against Newcastle.

And after being recalled by Germany boss Joachim Low, team-mate Toni Kroos claimed his body language indicated he did not care whether he won or lost.

Guardiola hinted in the summer that Sane needed to work harder to get to the levels that earned him the PFA’s Young Player of the Year award last season.

But he rubbished Kroos’ words about his player, saying: “It’s normal after what happened last season that people ask about him.

“His body language is the same as last season and he was the best young player in the league. Leroy was so important, is so important, and will be so important for the club. There’s no doubt about that.

“It’s a challenge for him - not just for him, for everybody.

“There are a lot of nice strikers and midfield players and the season will be judged in 11 months, not just in three weeks or one month.

“He’s a nice guy, so I don’t have any bad words about him we are here to try to help, not just him, but everybody.”

Sane began last season badly, not starting five of the first six games, but then kicked into action in spectacular style.

And Guardiola is expecting a similar reaction this time.

“Of course, he’s going to respond in the right way,” he said. “He’s a competitive guy.

“He was so professional last season and he had competition as well - because Raheem Sterling could play in that position on the left.

“But this season, Bernardo Silva was the first one. He started in an incredible condition and he deserves to play.

“Raz, when he played the two or three games he played, for
