THE exhibition dedicated to the Spice Girls has extended its stay in Manchester and is settling in at the Great Northern - this time with the Spice Bus in tow.

The original Spice Bus, which appeared in Spice World The Movie, has parked up just outside the Great Northern and will make up a large part of the popular exhibition.

Fans will have the opportunity to sit in the driver’s seat of the Union Jackpainted double decker, which was ‘home’ to the pop group in their 1997 film.

The rest of the exhibition features iconic costumes, memorabilia, and props, all in celebration of the phenomenon that was Posh, Sporty, Scary, Baby and Ginger Spice.

Geri Halliwell’s iconic Union Jack platform boots are there, alongside dolls, lunch boxes, umbrellas, posters, stationery, and even packets of crisps from the years that the Spice Girls ruled the airwaves.

The exhibition, which was originally at Manchester Central convention centre, was supposed to leave Manchester on September 4 - but will now be sticking around until September 30 at its new home at the Great Northern.

It was curated by Alan SmithAllison, who teamed up with collectors from around the world, including Manchester’s very own Guinness World Record holder Liz West. West owns more than 5,000 individual items related to the girl band.

Mark Schofield, centre director for Great Northern, said: “Manchester is famous for its music scene, past and present. We want to support this here at the Great Northern, as well as give people the opportunity to relive the best of 90s pop culture.”

Tickets for Spice Up Manchester cost £10, with under 12s going free. Tickets are available from spicegirls-exhibition.com
