Airport bosses crack down on baggage handler seen hurling cases

-

PEOPLE need to get a grip. It’s a suitcase, for goodness sake, what do you expect the baggage handlers to do? They have a very short time allowance to get luggage off the planes through to the passengers waiting for them. And next time you’re all quick enough to criticise someone, think how would you do it any better working outside in all weathers having to stick to a strict time slot. After all, you can’t have planes missing their time slots. LYNN COPELAND SO you think it is acceptable for the staff to throw around people’s belongings and damaging suitcases and possibly valuables inside because of short time. I’m sorry, but there is no excuse for how they were handling the suitcases, which can be expensive. SARAH MAGUIRE THERE is no excuse whatever for his behaviour. BECCY JONES WHEN you get paid to do a job, you should do it to a decent standard. Not do your best to do it to the worst standard. LEE JOHNSTONE THERE’S a difference between gently throwing the bag onto the cart and using excessive force. I used to be a baggage handler and this was unacceptable. Yes it’s a suitcase and possibly a tough one but there must be respect for people’s belongings. CARL BATE YES there will always be rough handling of baggage, gently throwing it onto the carts from the belt and from the carts onto the carousel. But what we see here is just gratuitous mishandling of baggage. Launching it onto the cart like that with that force has absolutely zero benefit, in fact it’s counterproductive. JAY B M SINGH
