Accept the democratic decision on Brexit

-

IN 2016, the people of Britain voted in a democratic referendum to leave the European Union.

For democracy sake, that decision should be accepted and the people abide by that result.

I voted to leave on the grounds that poor countries will have a better chance of competing in a world market to sell their goods.

In 1973, I voted against Britain joining the European Common Market, for I regarded it then to be a ‘capitalist cartel,’ my views have not changed.

I witnessed on several occasions, refugees left in squalor in the ‘shanty town’ of Calais and those poor people trying to survive in the most desperate of conditions.

What did the EU do to alleviate the situation? The answer is, very little.

The European Union, from its ‘Ivory Towers’ in Brussels, have sought to dominate all nations in Western and Central Europe.

Well, I say no, for the reason that I have respect for British governments and its constituents, plus faith in our ability to make our laws by which the people of these islands live by.

Britain can trade with the world, including Europe, under ‘free trade agreements.’

This country will then be no longer shackled to the chains that have limited Britain’s prosperity by being tied to Europe predominantly.

The world, its goods and its people await a free Britain to do business with them all.

Let us now take that golden opportunity.

The people of Britain cast their view on June 23, 2016 – that is sufficient.
