THIS is the bloodied face of 71-year-old David Miskin after he was brutally assaulted in an unprovoked attack.

It was one of two vicious attacks which took place on the same afternoon in Salford.

Police have now released images of a man they wish to speak in connection with the assaults, which they believe are ‘linked.’

Mr Miskin was left with a shattered jaw after being repeatedly punched in the street.

It took place at about 4.50pm on Sunday, September 3, on Bury New Road, Lower Broughton. as Mr Miskin was walking past Kwik Fit in the direction of Prestwich.

Police say ‘without any warning’ a man repeatedly punched Mr Miskin, Victim David Miskin and the man police want to question knocking him to the floor, before the offender then ran off towards Manchester.

On the same afternoon, a second victim was walking close to Happy Feet Nursery when he was approached by a man who asked him for the time. He was then knocked to the floor before being repeatedly punched while he lay on the ground unconscious. His jaw was broken in three places.

Police believe the incidents are linked and have released this photo taken by a passer-by of a man they wish to speak in connection with the attacks.

Pc Christopher Wood, of GMP’s Salford Division, said: “These were two violent and totally unprovoked assaults on two men who were simply minding their own business.

He added: “If you recognise the man pictured, saw them in the area at the time, or have any information, please contact police immediately.”
