FAMILY PAYS TRIBUTE TO ‘AMAZING, FANTASTIC AND LOVEABLE MAN’
TWO men found dead after an incident at a city-centre hotel have been named by police.
The man found dead inside a room at the Britannia Hotel on Portland Street in the early hours of Wednesday has been named as 29-year-old Thomas Noakes.
The body of a second man discovered on Silver Street outside the hotel has been formally identified as 21-yearold Hayden Fitzpatrick.
It is understood the former pupil at Our Lady’s High School in Blackley fell five floors from a window of the Britannia Hotel.
The hotel room was booked at 1.40am, the M.E.N. understands, and Mr Fitzpatrick fell from the window at 5.25am.
The two men are thought to have worked together for an insurance firm.
The family of Mr Noakes, from Eccles, Salford, described him as a ‘muchloved son, brother, brother-inlaw, uncle, cousin and friend.’
They said: “Thomas was a fantastic, amazing, lovable man who made us all laugh and was always the life and soul of the party.
“He was a much-loved son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend.
“It is with great difficulty that his friends and family have to say goodbye to someone who touched so many lives. He was loved by everyone he met.
“He will be missed so much, but never forgotten for the fun, loving and caring person that he was.”
Shortly after 5.30am on Wednesday, police were attending an incident at the hotel when they discovered a 29-year-old man in a room.
Detectives launched a murder investigation into Mr Noakes’ death and inquiries are ongoing.
The death of Mr Fitzpatrick is not being treated as suspicious, police confirmed.
