Ice village tickets now on sale

-

TICKETS are now on sale for Britain’s first ever ice village, which is coming to Manchester this winter, when Cathedral Gardens is transformed into a frozen winter wonderland.

The ice village will include family-friendly attractions like a frozen toy factory, a Santa’s grotto, and icy versions of traditional fairground games like hook-a-duck. There’s also an ice bar for the adults.

The ice village is being created as part of the Manchester Christmas Markets, an extension to the popular ice skating rink that is erected in the area each year. Although the site will be free to enter and there will be a programme packed with free activities, visitors will need to purchase tickets for the ice sculpture exhibition, Santa’s grotto, and the ice rink. Ice sculptures will take the shapes of elves, toys and arctic animals, with a suitably industrial background of cogs and pistons.

There will also be a female train driver sporting a ‘votes for women’ badge, a worker bee, and footballrelated objects, all carved out of solid ice.

The ice village at Cathedral Gardens will open on Friday November 9 and will stay open until Saturday January 5, closing only on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

It will be open from 11am to 9pm daily.

Tickets are from icevillage.co.uk .
