Valiant Belle Vue fight, but lose out

- SPEEDWAY By HAYLEY BROMLEY

KING’S Lynn cemented their place in the 2018 Premiership Grand Final at the expense of Belle Vue, who fought valiantly but were unable to overcome the first-leg deficit imposed on them.

The Rentruck Aces were optimistic ahead of the second leg in Norfolk, but the odds were against them as they tackled the Tru Plant Stars without big guns Craig Cook and Dan Bewley.

The home team started off strongly with two 5-1s to kick things off, leaving the visitors with an even bigger mountain to climb, but they dug deep and refused to go down without a fight. Keeping things close, the Rentruck Aces made sure to keep their hosts honest and guest star Tobiasz Musielak in particular proved to be an inspired choice by team boss Mark Lemon. He ended the night with 11+1, while Stevie Worrall provided eight points and Max Fricke 6+2, while guest reserve Coty Garcia contributed five points. Belle Vue will celebrate their end of season with The Maugers 2018 on October 20.
