CRUNCH TIME FOR MOURINHO

SOME CARE MORE THAN OTHERS SAYS UNDER-PRESSURE UNITED BOSS AHEAD OF EURO CRUNCH WITH VALENCIA

- By SAMUEL LUCKHURST

UNDER-PRESSURE Jose Mourinho believes some United players don’t care as much as others as they attempt to arrest their poor form.

The Reds head into tonight’s Champions League clash with Valencia at Old Trafford winless in three games following Saturday’s 3-1 defeat at West Ham.

United are already nine points adrift of Premier League leaders City after seven games and speculation is mounting over Mourinho’s Old Trafford future.

The United manager has had a tendency to publicly criticise players, and dropped Alexis Sanchez and Antonio Valencia from the squad to play West Ham.

When asked if he felt some players cared more than others, Mourinho replied: “I think some care more than others.” Mourinho declined to name the players.

“Every player is different, no player is the same,” he added. “I see different reactions but sometimes what you see is not really what is inside. I see sad people, I see people that do not look like they lost a game. I see so-so, but in the little two sessions of training we had (since Saturday) everything was normal. Everyone with desire to work and play.”

Mourinho’s approach has been widely criticised amid reservations over United’s playing style and their ability to compete in a league City clinched by 19 points last term.

The Portuguese reiterated he is endeavouring to turn things around at United, though.

“What I can do to improve things I do and I will improve the things that depend on me and my work,” Mourinho stressed.
