Corrie star has a ‘flare’ for fashion

-

CORONATION Street star Bhavna Limbachia was leading in the style stakes as she attended a fashion event in Manchester city centre. The Corrie actress strolled arm-in-arm with Manchester designer to the stars Zeynep Kartal as the pair headed to a celebration of the city’s fashion scene.

Bhavna, who plays Rana Nazir in the ITV1 soap, and Zeynep, who has designed show-stopping gowns for Lady Gaga and Cheryl, attended a press morning at Hotel Gotham for the Manchester Fashion Festival 2018.

The Weatherfield favourite, who is an ambassador for the festival, didn’t put a foot wrong on the fashion front as she turned heads in on-trend black flared trousers teamed with a plush cream jumper and eyecatching bright red boots.

Her former Coronation Street co-star Catherine Tyldesley will host Manchester Fashion Festival 2018, a showcase some of the finest designers to come out of Manchester including Zeynep as well as the city’s rising stars at the Midland Hotel on Saturday.

The black tie event, billed as the biggest fashion event outside of the capital, will showcase a number of collections straight from the London Fashion Week catwalk, including from festival ambassadors Zeynep and Nathan Alexander of Boda Skins.

More than 300 guests will attend catwalk shows and entertainment from Blue’s Simon Webbe and Coronation Street star Victoria Ekanoye who plays Angie Appleton.

Cath, who played Eva Price in the show until this summer, said: “I’m thrilled to be a part of Manchester Fashion Festival this year.

“Manchester boasts some fabulous designers and Mancunians have a great sense of style.

“In fact, some truly iconic statement trends have emanated from Manchester over the years. I’m excited to see what this year holds.”

Cath will be joined by a host of her former Corrie co-stars at the Met Gala theme event and catwalk shows will come from Zeynep, Boda Skins, Nadine Merabi, Junq Couture, Monokain and graduates from Manchester universities.

Fashion graduate Bhavna said: “I felt it was really important for Manchester to have the exposure it deserves and needs for being one of the UK’s biggest fashion capitals.

“I’m honoured to be a part of the second Manchester Fashion Festival, it’s going to be bigger and better one not to be missed.”
