Salford yet to lose as Robins and Hatters remain in cup

ADAM Rooney netted a hat-trick as Salford City maintained their unbeaten run with a 4-1 win at Dover.

The striker netted in the 18th, 20th and 56th minutes, with Carl Piergianni adding a fourth in the 66th as the Ammies stayed top of the National League.

ALTRINCHAM came from behind to progress to the FA Cup fourth qualifying round after beating Bradford Park Avenue 4-2 at the J Davidson Stadium.

On-loan Salford forward Jake Beesley opened the scoring from the penalty spot for Bradford, then the Robins levelled three minutes later through Connor Hampson.

Shane Killock restored Bradford’s lead before captain Jake Moult equalised, then James Jones and Jordan Hulme found the net to secure the win for Phil Parkinson’s side.

Stockport also put their name in the hat by claiming a 3-0 win against Corby Town at Edgeley Park.

Matt Warburton and a Frank Mulhern brace sealed a comfortabl­e victory for the Hatters, who will be eagerly anticipati­ng today’s draw.

FC United finished the game with eight men in their 2-1 defeat to Witton Albion at Broadhurst Park.

Jack Banister opened the scoring for FC United, but Kurt Willoughby, Harry Winter and substitute Elliot Simoes were all shown red as FC United crashed out of the FA Cup.

Curzon Ashton were also knocked out after a 2-1 defeat at home to Southport, with Adam Morgan scoring the only goal for the Nash.

Ashton United booked their place in the next round with a 1-0 win at King’s Lynn Town thanks to a stunning Ramirez Howarth strike on his Ashton debut.
