Stop the madness before it’s too late

-

IN response to Dai Woosnam’s letter

(M.E.N. Viewpoints, October 6) in which he describes Jeremy Hunt as a dunderhead for initially wishing to remain in the EU.

Over 16 million people voted to remain because we saw then that our supposed prosperity came from being in the EU, that our future economic security would come from being in the EU – and younger people know this.

Tens of thousands of Brexiteers have passed away since the referendum and been replaced by younger more realistic voters who would vote for us to remain, because they see through the lies, half-truths and wishlists of the leading Brexiteers who sold some of the nation a pig in a poke.

Yes, it was just a bag full of waffle – remember the young are the people who rely on this country to be a financially stable place.

Dai Woosnam says we should forget economic arguments and go for freedom. Is he relying on the economy to pay their rent, mortgages bills, etc – to pay back the huge borrowings debt (£1.8 trillion), the basis of which was laid down by the last Labour government?

Dai Woosnam describes himself as sane and cultured – this is open to debate, in my experience of many years on this earth being cultured doesn’t always equate to having common sense, it leans more to naivety.

Somehow this madness must be stopped before it’s too late.

Millions of people are worried sick about their future and sick of being patronised by others who say ‘don’t worry it will be alright,’ when these same people haven’t got as clue what will happen in the future, but will certainly blame Teresa May and not themselves if it goes wrong.

We want decisions to be made based on reality, not a wish list. DT, Marple
