FA to investigate Mourinho’s post-match comments
THE Football Association are set to launch an investigation into comments made by Jose Mourinho.
The United manager is being investigated in relation to touchline remarks he reportedly made following the dramatic 3-2 win over Newcastle on Saturday.
Mourinho looked an aggrieved figure at full-time after he witnessed his side rally from behind to defeat Newcastle late on.
It is believed television cameras caught the United manager swearing as he walked off the pitch following the unlikely victory at Old Trafford.
Second-half goals from Juan Mata, Anthony Martial and Alexis Sanchez secured three valuable points for the under-fire manager after his side had fallen 2-0 down in the opening ten minutes.
Speaking after the dramatic win on Saturday night, Mourinho joked that he was public enemy number one following United’s poor start to the new season.
“I asked the players to give absolutely everything,” the Portuguese said.
“Of course we made some tactical touches, risked a lot. We were trying to find the best way to play and in the end we won the match that I think we deserved to win, the fans deserved to win.
“I don’t even like people singing my name. For the team. This is what a football club is and Manchester United is a big football club.
“As a friend of mine said to me this morning, if tomorrow rains in London it’s my fault - I go to London tonight.
“If there is some difficulty over the agreement of Brexit, it’s my fault.
“I have to be ready for all of this.”
