Martial is expected to sign new ‘long-term’ contract
UNITED are confident that Anthony Martial will put pen to paper on a new ‘long-term’ contract, according to reports.
Martial has been in and out of the United side this season after a summer where he was criticised by manager Jose Mourinho on tour in the US and was strongly linked with a move away from Old Trafford.
But reports suggest that Martial is expected to commit his future to the club by agreeing a five-year contract that is believed to be worth significantly more than his current deal.
The same report claims Luke Shaw and David De Gea have also been offered improved terms, while there is hope that Juan Mata and Ander Herrera will also agree extensions due to their positive personalities in the dressing room.
Meanwhile, Juventus will rival United for Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic, according to reports in Italy.
Calciomercato quote the Corriere dello Sport newspaper, which says Juve manager Massimiliano Allegri sees Milenkovic as a successor to aging trio Andrea Barzagli (37), Giorgio Chiellini (34) and Leonardo Bonucci (31).
The report says Milenkovic could cost Juventus up to 35 million.
Jose Mourinho saw Milenkovic in action last week when he watched Serbia’s win in Montenegro, and the defender is on the radar at Old Trafford.
