NORTHERN Soul have confirmed that they’ll be back at the Manchester Christmas Markets this year, and once again they’ve got some pretty epic sandwiches on sale.

The grilled cheese experts have now got two permanent sites in Manchester - one on Church Street and a new spot on Piccadilly Approach - and will also be at Albert Square from next Friday.

The Manchester Christmas Markets will run from Friday, November 9 until Saturday, December 22, although the Albert Square site will remain open until December 23.

Forget a soggy and limp prepacked sarnie - Northern Soul will be bringing back their legendary Crimbo Dinner sandwich for 2019, served piping hot.

It starts with their signature grilled cheese, known as the ‘Soul’, which is then stuffed with turkey crown, apple and berry stuffing, and cranberry sauce, before being topped with a pig in blanket and liberally drizzled in gravy.

The pig in blanket is made with Mancunian spiced sausage meat and features a festive mix of orange, cranberry and apricot.

Another festive sandwich on offer will be the Brie Wish You A Merry Christmas, which is a bacon, brie and cranberry sauce combination.

Then there’s the What a Festive Pig, which features festive spiced ham supplied by award-winning Andrew’s Artisan Meats in Salford and chosen by customers.

The big-hitters from their permanent sites will come along for the ride too - the signature Soul, the ‘Classic’ (with red onion chutney), and the Mac Attack (stuffed with mac and cheese).

The Northern Soul hut will be back in the same spot as last year at the main Albert Square hub, tucked in next to the Moose bar and the main German beer house.
