Two boys are arrested after ‘ferocious’ trick-or-treat knifing
VICTIM, AGED 17, STABBED IN FRONT OF HALLOWEEN YOUNGSTERS
TWO teenage boys have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a 17-year-old boy was stabbed in front of trick or treaters on Halloween.
The victim was knifed numerous times during the brutal attack on Lingmoor Walk in Hulme.
He was taken to hospital with wounds to his upper body and legs. The teenager is still in hospital.
Lingmoor Walk was packed with youngsters when the victim was attacked.
Two 18-year-old boys have now been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. Another 18-yearold boy, who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has been bailed.
Police are appealing for witnesses – or anyone with information – to come forward.
Det Insp Mark Astbury, from GMP’s City of Manchester team, said: “Our officers have trawled CCTV in the area and have been going house-to-house to try and find any information about this ferocious stabbing.
“Following these inquiries we have been able to make two further arrests which will hopefully further help us piece together the puzzle of what happened.
“Thankfully, the victim will recover from his injuries, but it is incredible that he was not more seriously injured. “I would like to thank the community for their help with this investigation so far, our inquiries are continuing and we would still like to hear from anyone who knows what happened.”
