Nose out much-loved movie

-

A MUCH-LOVED Wallace and Gromit film is being brought to life with smells this weekend.

The special scratch ‘n’ sniff screening of The Curse Of The WereRabbit is coming to the city as part of Manchester Animation Festival.

Stinking Bishop cheese and bunny burps will be among the scents to be released to the audience at HOME in Manchester city centre.

Cinema goers will be handed a card overlaid with encapsulated odours. They will then be prompted at key scenes throughout the film to scratch the coating and inhale the associated aroma. The team behind the showing have previously scored scent accompaniments to films such as The Wicker Man, The Goonies and Matilda.

Merlin Crossingham, creative director for Wallace and Gromit, said: “We spend ages working on how our films look and sound because that is how cinema works. Entertainment for your eyes and ears.

“So having the ability to add smell to the cinematic experience is tantalising, your nose will be left out no longer.”

Tickets for the 1pm showing on Sunday, November 11, cost £9 for adults and £7 for children and can be booked online.
