Ammies’ FA Cup replay at Peninsula to be shown live on television

- By BETH COLLINSON

SALFORD City’s FA Cup first round replay against Shrewsbury Town will be broadcast live on BT Sport from the Peninsula Stadium.

The National League Ammies drew 1-1 with the League One Shrews at the weekend.

The replay has been put back 24 hours to November 21 (7.45pm) so it can be screened live.

If Salford beat Shrewsbury, who sacked their manager John Askey on Monday, they will be rewarded with a home tie against another League One side in Scunthorpe United.

BT Sport aren’t the only guests being welcomed to the Peninsula Stadium, as Bands FC will be at Saturday’s game against Aldershot Town.

Bands FC blend together football badges with bands and have created 400 unique designs so far.

The Ammies have been featured in one of their recent designs, as the Salford City badge is mixed with the face of Salfordian and musician Tim Burgess.

During Saturday’s game, Band FC will be selling a wide range of merchandise and have offered to donate all proceeds to Foundation 92, an independent charity set up by the Class of ’92 to improve lives through sport.

Foundation 92 co-ordinator Andrew Gordon said: “We are really excited and proud to be doing this collaboration activity with Bands FC.

“The generosity of the Bands FC team to get involved with the club and donate the proceeds from the day to our Foundation 92 is overwhelming.”

Nick Fraser from Bands FC added: “Salford City and Tim Burgess have both been supportive from the start so we’re excited to be working with them both on Saturday.”
