‘Shambolic’ roadworks cause chaos

-

THE Regent Road works causing gridlock across the city centre are now hitting pedestrians too. Residents have described battling through a maze of closed walkways. Here’s what you’re saying on Facebook:

Roadworks and diversions all over the place. Not a single route I use has been left unaffected. I don’t think they have a clue what they are doing and the work will not be completed on time, how can it be if no one is ever working? Matthew Cooper

Whenever I’ve been on holiday to Amsterdam, Italy, Malta and other places, they close the roads at night, work through the night and the job’s finished in no time, why can’t they do it like that here? Or are people going to complain of noise throughout the night too? Would make a lot more sense and less frustration for a lot of drivers and pedestrians. Max Friedrich

Waste of money, waste of time. Stressful for everyone using the roads. People are late for work because of all this stupidity. Abida Ashraf

Google Maps has started to apologise when I put it on for my journey to and from work. Craig Kilgour

An absolute shambles. Whoever decided to do major works like this when it is one of the only routes to the hospital needs their head testing. We regularly travel through Regent Road and the most we have seen working is seven people, but I shouldn’t really say working as most of the time they are sat down. Sharon Willis
