Officers in appeal to find man after death

-

DETECTIVES investigating the death of a man found injured at a retail park have released new CCTV footage of a potential witness.

The man who died, aged 50, was found with serious injuries at about 9.30am on Saturday, November 10, on the forecourt of the derelict Central Retail Park in Great Ancoats Street.

He died eight days later and an investigation was launched. The man’s death is currently being treated as unexplained. Officers have released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to walking along Great Ancoats Street near the car park of the retail park.

Det Insp Dave Sinclair, of GMP’s City of Manchester Division, said: “This was a tragic incident in which this man has lost his life, and my thoughts remain with his family at this difficult time.

“We are working to establish the full circumstances of what happened to this man, and provide his family with the answers they deserve.

“The person we want to speak to is seen on CCTV shortly before 6.20am walking along Great Ancoats Street towards its junction with Old Mill Street, and then close to the Central Retail Park.

“It is possible they were returning from a night out or may have been on their way to work.

“I would urge this person as well as anyone with information about what happened to please get in touch with police as soon as possible.”

Anyone with any information should call police on 0161 856 1146 or 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
