Pundit says Jose is ‘killing’ Reds striker

-

JOSE Mourinho has been accused of ‘killing’ Marcus Rashford by substituting him in the game against Crystal Palace.

The criticism came from BBC pundit Garth Crooks, who has advised the England attacker to leave the club. However, the 21-year-old was actually brought off because he was injured.

Rashford impressed in the 2-2 draw at St Mary’s against Southampton, so much so he made it in to Crooks’ team of the week.

And while he was full of praise for the United forward, Crooks hammered Mourinho and accused the United manager of destroying the England international’s confidence.

“This really can’t go on. Jose Mourinho is killing Marcus Rashford,” Crooks said. “The lad pulled United from the jaws of defeat at Southampton and then Jose gave the one man who was desperate to win the game for him the hook? It made no sense.

“The kid was on a roll and anyone who has played the game could see that. Mourinho may have won trophies but he destroys players in the process.

“He is doing to Rashford what he did to Arjen Robben at Chelsea. Rashford must get out of United now before what little confidence he has left is destroyed.”

Crooks clearly hadn’t heard what Mourinho said in his post-match press conference where he explained Rashford asked to come off because of ‘fatigue and injury.”
